The principal manager of the breeding program is Stephanie Cowperthwaite, a 30year veteran of riding, competition, and training horses as well a coaching and instructing young riders. Stephanie is recognized by veterinarians for her knowledge and care of the horses and for the selection and ensuring young horses are schooled in being handled and managed calmly.
Stephanie has 30 years experience as a horse owner, and competitive rider and has worked with horses at all levels with a wide variety of conditions and temperaments. Our aim is to breed a diverse group of horses with the temperament and quality to attract young amateur riders to the sport and ensure they have a horse that will provide the fun and enjoyment of riding and horse ownership
Windy Hill is dedicated to selecting and raising young horses for the amateur competition rider. It selects from the stallions exhibiting a calm and quiet manner and our mares have a proven record of having a quiet dispositon with other horses and with people.

Our horses can be available after weaning usually as early as 6 months, but generally closer to a year old to ensure they are well trained for the amateur rider.
We breed primarily for the sport horse or hunter/jumper competitions, but some may be well be suited for dressage or eventing as well.
Our horses are selected from some ot the top bloodlines and therefore are not inexpensive. However, since we are looking to attract young riders to the sport we are careful to price the horse as reasonably as we can
